Group Description: The Economics and Central Bank Strategy team is responsible for developing Evercore ISI’s economic outlook and macro policy analysis. The team operates at the intersection of macroeconomics, policy and markets globally, with particular focus on the US. In recent years the two component parts of the team each ranked number one in the Extel / Institutional Investor poll. We are now looking to strengthen the team further with a best-in-class senior hire focused on economic data research, modelling and forecasting.
The team combines rigorous macroeconomic analysis with direct market engagement and policy interpretation. Our work is followed closely by leading institutional investors, corporations, and policymakers globally. The platform offers the intellectual seriousness of a top-tier policy institution together with the pace, visibility, and influence of a premier market-facing research franchise.
What is the Position? Evercore ISI is looking for a highly experienced economist with deep technical expertise to help lead the firm’s real-time analysis of the US economy, provide differentiated thematic insights, and play a central role in shaping the macro outlook. The new hire will also develop and execute a generational upgrade of the firm’s modelling and analytical infrastructure. This person will work in close partnership with and report to the Head of Economics and Central Bank Strategy.
This role is designed for a highly experienced and technically sophisticated economist with deep analytical rigor and intellectual independence. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape market debate in real time, engage directly with major global investors and officials, and contribute to the evolution of next-generation macroeconomic analysis at a time of far-reaching structural change.

Expected Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $275,000
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to receive a discretionary bonus paid in cash and/or deferred equity. A significant portion of Director/Managing Director overall compensation is typically delivered through this variable component, which is determined based on firm, team, and individual performance. While bonus amounts are not guaranteed and may vary year to year, total compensation for this role is intended to be competitive and should not be assessed on base salary alone.
