Group Description: Evercore Canada is responsible for covering and delivering Evercore’s global platform and capabilities to a broad range of large-cap corporate clients and financial sponsors across multiple sectors nationwide. Our full suite of investment banking services includes, but is not limited to, M&A advisory, board and special committee advisory, capital raising, capital structure advisory, strategic shareholder advisory, activism and raid defense, and other areas of expertise.
What is the position? Evercore seeks to hire an Associate for its Advisory Group located in Toronto.
Primary Responsibilities: Evercore's Canada Advisory group has exceptional deal flow, which provides Associates the ability to work closely with senior bankers on large-cap to middle-market transactions for both strategic and private equity clients. Associates are critical members of small transaction teams and assume most day-to-day project management and execution responsibilities across transaction types: sell-side M&A, buy-side M&A, divestitures / corporate carve-outs, SPAC mergers, capital raising (bank, direct lending, and debt capital markets; private and public equity capital markets) and restructurings.
Specific Qualifications: Candidates must have M&A investment banking experience, including solid analytical, written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in accounting, financial and valuation analyses, transaction structuring and business strategy are critical. Responsibilities for an Associate include leading execution across all aspects of live transactions – managing a team of analysts, overseeing financial and valuation analyses, liaising with other third party advisors, assessing tax and structuring implications, leading due diligence workstreams and drafting marketing materials – in addition to creating industry / competitive landscape analyses and drafting client presentations to assist with new business development activities.
